Mike & Rachel: A New Haven WeddingAugust 23, 2015

I know I’ve said it before and every wedding photographer probably feels the same way, but I have the best job.  I literally press a button on a machine and all it does is captures love and this wedding had no shortage of that to go around.  It was awesome for me because Rachel and I have known each other for some time.  I met her through one of our long time friends, Matt, when he and I were battle DJ’s, turntablists if you will.  So yeah, that’s like 100 years ago.. haha.    It was great, Matt flew in from Canada to spin some beats and another long time friend, Gene, had his band rocking the party.   Quite a reunion of friends and family celebrating with the bride and groom.  I even think there’s a video of me doing the running man with Rachel out there somewhere.. yikes!

Mike & Rachel, congrats to you both and thank you for having me be apart of such an amazing day.

-Tim

Family Vacation 2015: Cape Ann Adventures Part 1August 11, 2015

Last week was perfect.  It was Emilia’s 2nd trip to the beach but 1st that she could actually move about on her own.  We explored a local farm, where she made friends with a baby donkey.  We hung out with Nana in Gloucester and found some really big anchors.  Emilia was surrounded by her amazing great Aunts and Uncles.   I got to watch my little lady, full of delight, as she ran up and down the beach and in and out of tide pools.  Most importantly, our family made new memories in this timeless place that will last a lifetime.  We love Gloucester!

Welcome Baby Henry!August 10, 2015

There’s nothing like being in the presence of a newborn baby.  It’s really is quite powerful, impressive even and I’m not just talking about all the poop.. haha   Seriously though, to see a human only days old and know that they will grow up to be someone, their own unique character, is amazing.  Congrats Jackie & Gary!   What perfect little boy you have.

Welcome to the world, Henry Dermott Chase.

This is the place: CaliforniaJuly 20, 2015

In April, I had the pleasure of working with my good friend, Neil Landino, in California.  We shot one of his friends weddings at Firestone Vineyard in Los Olivos.  Needless to say, it was an incredible experience and all around great time.  When he first asked if I could help shoot the wedding, I said yes, of course, and started thinking about what else I would do while on the west coast.  My brother and sister live in Venice Beach, so getting into trouble with them was a must.  Coincidentally, another good friend and his family from Connecticut were on vacation in the same neighborhood.  I saw them and took some family portraits on the beach.  It also happened that my sister was graduating from Second City Hollywood the night I arrived.   I got to see her perform live and it was beyond amazing!  Maura and I also had a chance to work with each other.  Along with the help of another good friend, Kelsey; wedding planner extraordinaire, and my Aunt and Uncle; a creative dynamic duo, we put together an editorial shoot in the mountains above Thousand Oaks.  It was a jam packed week of visiting, collaborating, and celebrating with family and friends.  I can’t wait to do it again!  Below is a small sample of images from this memorable trip.  Everything was captured on a Pentax 645n with a variety of different film stocks.

Enjoy,

Tim

Bryan & Lisa’s WeddingMay 14, 2015

Every wedding day should be filled with as much joy and love as Bryan & Lisa’s.  Capturing a wedding like theirs is a gift and reminds me how much I love what I do.  During the evening, the father of the bride shared a beautiful sentiment, “Love is just a word until two people give it meaning.”  Well on this night, a whole bunch of people came together to show their love for that very reason.

Congrats again you guys! Enjoy a few images from your special day!

A Vintage Bohemian Wedding InspirationMarch 31, 2015

“Love is just a word until two people give it meaning.” I heard this at a recent wedding and it sounds pretty good to me.  We do tend to throw the word around a little bit.  I love what I do but it’s mostly because I love the people I get to work with.  Everything is about relationships and the energy (love) that’s created and flows between us.   Love by itself is nothing until, in this case, you bring a group of friends together to tell a story about, well, love.

Thanks so much to Kelsey Rae Designs for dreaming up this wonderful day!

Emilia’s Big Cake SmashMarch 7, 2015

Our little girl is already ONE!  It’s gone by so fast, Stephanie and I are beside ourselves.  The tears tickled their way to my face last night when I thought about all the incredible moments we’ve already experienced as a family.  I was overwhelmed with emotion.  The full weight of how fleeting these moments are in our life rolled over me like a wave.  In that instant I felt heavy, scared; Only to come up for air and feel nothing but bliss.

Henry’s Big Cake Smash!February 24, 2015

Everyone meet Henry.  This lil’ blue eyed bandit just turned ONE!  He’s a happy go lucky kind of guy who likes to hang with his Daddy and read books with his Mommy.  When faced with a challenge (or cake), Henry tends to dive right in.  Fearlessly inhaling life (or icing) as he goes, Henry doesn’t quit until it’s filled his nose.  An inspiring lesson on how to live…. or eat cake!  Enjoy!

Happy Birthday Henry!

Vineyard LoveFebruary 6, 2015

There’s a thing about vineyards right?  As soon as you set foot on one you feel at ease, even before you take a sip.  Think about the most famous wine growing regions of the world.  They’re incredibly stunning.  The quality of life is appreciated on a whole different level.   You find yourself completely relaxed,  you know nothing more beautiful and you’re filled to the absolute brim with life.   A vineyard sounds an awful lot like being in love.

Congrats Paul & Jill! I’m so looking forward to your wedding day.
