This past weekend was a whirlwind of weddings and the weather was absolutely gorgeous. The whirlwind and weather continued right through Sunday evening when I met Chris and Michelle for the their esession. I was a little concerned, however, as I turned the corner of Chapel and Church downtown New Haven. I found myself almost right in the middle of a Bernie Sanders rally. I thought I would never find a parking space but totally lucked out.
I couldn’t miss Michelle & Chris if tried. Their giant golden balloons were glowing in the late day sun, blowing too. Blowing so much in fact, that before I took even one picture, two of the three balloons were off and away. I instantly reached for my camera to document their existence as Chris just shook his head in disbelief. We were off to a good start. Minus loosing the balloons, it was a great time. Check out some images of this wonderful couple from a beautiful night in New Haven.
Congrats you guys! Can’t wait for the wedding!
After two amazing weddings this weekend to kick off the season, I’m exhausted.. haha.
I’m so excited for the rest of this year and can’t wait to work with all my wonderful couples.
Here’s a quick shot from Beth & Dan’s wedding in Scarsdale Friday night.
I’m so excited to be traveling back to San Francisco this summer to capture an intimate wedding! It’s one of my favorite places to just be and enjoy the sites. Not to mention my brother Devlin lives there. If you’re interested in booking a session or photo meet up, I’ll be in the Bay Area from 7/30 to 8/4.
Some of the most exciting times in life, no doubt, is hearing that someone is expecting a baby and naturally the news of the little bundles arrival. It’s really hard to convey the power of these emotions, as they take hold of you as a parent. It’s something felt down in your core, in the very place that centers you. Impressed upon constantly, in every moment you share now with your child, this place fixed in your body, somehow guides you to be the Mommy or Daddy you are.
Luke & Micaela’s wedding, what can I say? This was one of my favorites by far, for so many reasons. First, this was about as hometown as it gets for me. A Milford wedding? on the beach- Laurel Beach? I could stop right there and tell you stories all about the good ol’ days spent in that neighborhood. I could probably get myself and Wes, Micaela’s brother, in trouble if I mentioned some of our childhood adventures. And, I could tell you, knowing Micaela and Luke for some time now that they are some sweetest and kindest people I know. I’m so excited to share these images now, as they’re expecting a baby soon!
Every wedding is truly special and I cherish all of the loving moments I get to be apart of, but this one was so close to home, literally.
Enjoy a few select images captured on film from this beautiful day.
For a little while now, Emilia has been very sad and upset when I bring her to daycare in the morning. She’ll often wake up and say “no Kim’s house?” already holding back the tears. I remind her everyday how much fun she has and how excited she gets to play with her friends. I also talk about how brave she is, like a lion, I tell her. This morning was no different while she whimpered away, but when I pulled up to drop her off, I turned around, looked at her and she looked at me and said “I’m fine daddy”, wiping her eyes. With my heart melting, I walked around the car to get her out. I opened the door and asked if she was brave and she said “like a lion daddy.”
